There comes a certain time in a person's life when the sweet treats no longer melt off the body. Instead, the carbs and sugars cling to stomachs, hips, and places you never suspected could get chunkier.
Sound familiar? If so, you're certainly not alone. But the good news is that eating healthfully doesn't necessarily mean ditching all the moreish baked goods. Bougie Bakes is on a mission to overhaul traditional baking and make it healthier while still being tasty. The company's pastries, slices, and cakes are sugar-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free.
What's left to impart flavor, you might wonder despairingly. We understand the suspicion, no one wants to eat a healthy cake if it tastes like cardboard and broken dreams! With that in mind, we decided to find out how team Bougie Bakes stacks up.

What's On the Menu?
The Bougie Bakes online store is organized according to the style of treat you're ordering. Choose from:
Currently, there's also a Pumpkin collection with fall-inspired versions such as pumpkin pecan blondie bites and pumpkin pecan keto mini muffins, like all other products on the Bougie site, these are 100 percent sugar-free.
When you order a product, the brownie bites, for instance, you can choose to gift wrap it for $4 extra.
In addition, for many products, you can choose the size of your box.
Those brownie bites come in packs of 12, but if you're ordering cookies, you can choose between 6, 12, or 20.
If you'd like to receive a regular shipment of sugar-free bakes from Bougie, you can choose to subscribe and save on the regular price (you can cancel after 2nd delivery).
If you can't decide between a cookie type, or you want a mix of sweet treats, there's also a few Bougie Bakes bundles to choose from:
Note that seasonal products, like the Pumpkin collection we mentioned earlier, are not included in Bougie Bakes' package bundles.
The Taste Test
We'll start off by saying that you should all rush out and grab some of the double chocolate cookies and the brownie bites, these are both excellent.
Dense and comforting yet not cloying, the brownie bites' texture is very similar to a traditional brownie. They aren't too sweet either, which is a bonus if you're watching your waistline and don't want to fall victim to your sugar habits again.
If you're anything like us, a mere teaspoon of sugar while dieting will remind you why you love it so much and send you running to the cookie jar.
Of course, these brownie bites are 100 percent sugar-free, so if you do overindulge, you don't have to feel guilty.
We also enjoyed the flavor of the vegan mini muffins, both the banana walnut and the java chip. Given the choice again, we'd go banana walnut each time as the banana keeps the muffins moist and subtly moreish sweet. When Bougie Bakes said mini muffins, it didn't lie. These nuggets of goodness are more like tiny muffins, if you have a larger appetite, one will not fill you up. We think two mini muffins as an afternoon snack would be perfect though.
It seems Bougie customers agree about the brownies, regularly rated five-stars in online reviews and on Amazon, these are among the most popular bakes from Bougie.

These guilt-free treats are great as a one-off gift (to yourself or someone else) or subscribe to a regular delivery and save on your baked goods order. This isn't the cheapest option in the world — in fact, it's Bougie by name and a little bougie by nature — but we all deserve a treat sometimes, right?
