Taco Bell Subscription: Is This For Real?

How many places can you go to get 30 tacos for $10? As of right now, there’s only one. Taco Bell has launched a nationwide taco subscription service for taco fans everywhere. Through the fast-food company’s app, users can sign up for a Taco Lover’s Pass, which allows them to get one taco a day for 30 consecutive days. To keep lunchtime from getting a bit repetitive, Taco Bell fans can choose from any of the following options: the Doritos Locos Taco, Doritos Locos Taco Supreme, Spicy Soft Potato Taco, Soft Taco, Soft Taco Supreme, Crunchy Taco Supreme, and regular Crunchy Taco. If you haven’t tried all of those staple menu items yet, now is your chance!

This initiative expanded to all Taco Bell locations after a successful initial launch in Tuscon, Arizona, in September 2021. That local launch resulted in many new members to the Taco Bell Rewards Program, which already included popular offers such as the Friendsgiving Party Pack, the Build Your Own Cravings Box, and exclusive access to new menu items. 2022 is the 60th anniversary year of the popular fast-food restaurant, and Taco Bell wants its customers to feel seen. Of the Taco Lover’s Pass, Taco Bell’s Chief Digital Officer Zipporah Allen says, “It’s a fun way to continue offering unique ways to reward out more loyal fans through our digital access points.”

Taco Bell is at the forefront of what will surely become a wave of restaurants looking to adopt a subscription model of some sort. While there’s no shortage of digital rewards programs out there—like Starbucks, McDonald's, and Chick-Fil-A to name a few—fast food subscriptions aren’t as common. Panera Bread is one other recent player, offering subscribers a daily cup of coffee for $8.99 a month. Drinks are great, especially if you need your caffeine fix, but less than 40 cents for a taco is quite a steal.

So, how do you start making your taco dreams come true? First, download the Taco Bell app, where you’ll be prompted to create a free account using your name and email address. From there, you can hit “Get A Pass” on the Taco Lover’s Pass screen. You’ll pay your $10 upfront, and then you’re ready for your daily taco. To redeem your taco, place an order through the app and redeem it in-store or in the drive-thru. That’s it!

This subscription is not only perfect for die-hard Taco Bell fans but for anyone looking to save on mealtime. Even if you don’t use all 30 of your tacos, you’ll still spend less on a taco than you normally would. Of course, the company is likely betting that people will upgrade their orders to a full meal once they get in the door. Still, a taco subscription is a fun way to satisfy your cravings.
