Y’all, Megan Thee Stallion is selling 'Hottie' Pies on Goldbelly!
Food & Wine’s Mike Pomranz confesses, “ Full disclosure: I've yet to head over to Genius for in-depth analysis of the lyrics to Megan Thee Stallion's new song, a collaboration with Dua Lipa entitled "Sweetest Pie.
Pomranz further reminds us that "seeing as this is the same artist whose 2020 duet with Cardi B was famously abbreviated as "WAP," I have a sneaking suspicion that the song is not literally about pie.”
Well, we here at Meal Matchmaker went where Pomranz couldn’t and did an analysis of the new song.
He was right, the song isn’t about pie, so no big spoiler alert there. What Stallion is selling on Goldbelly is! Let’s connect the dots.
On "Sweetest Pie," Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa croon and rap about being femme fatales that lure men and give them more than what they bargained for.
In the catchy chorus, the pair say "I might take you home with this / I might give you all of it / Come get your dose of the sweetest pie”, with further stanzas indicating Stallion and Lupa, the women, are always in control, calling the shots as to who gets to taste their “sweetest pie” on their terms, never the men’s.
And though literal pies are not what is being sung about, to coincide with the release of this single from her forthcoming album, Megan released her own Megan's H-Town Hottie Pie for $59 via Goldbelly! Read that again, this is literally pie, not a euphemism!
And what a pie it is.
Megan’s H-Town Hottie Pie is a salty twist on a pecan pie loaded with a medley of coconut, pecans, butterscotch chips, and, get this, a dusting of edible gold.
In an announcement, Megan said, "Y'all, I'm so excited to partner with the hotties at Goldbelly! Ya girl wanted to create the sweetest pie of the century and my fam at Goldbelly did not disappoint. With the Texas-sized dose of sweetness, it's serving up, if you don't have my pie in your mouth you are missing out!"
