Type of Dishes
There's quite a big difference between meal kit companies when it comes to the type of dishes. Some go for American classics, with meat and starches and little to no veggies. Others are entirely plant-based, while yet others offer exotic dishes from all four corners of the globe.
Our review of Gobble shows that they mostly offer Mediterranean/Californian type dishes, with a few international influences like Indian and Thai curries.
Each week, you can also find heat-and-eat breakfast items like mini quiches, oatmeal, and Belgian waffles – together with popular sides like garlic bread and mac and cheese. There's surely a Gobble meal for everyone!
Gobble makes even the health-conscious eater happy. Most of their classic dinners contain 700-900 calories, with a wide variety of dietary choices, cuisines, and unique ingredients. See where Gobble ranks on our review of the best healthy meal services.
They also have a meal category called Lean & Clean, which are low carb, lean protein meals for those wanting to review their calorie intake. Dishes falling under this category contain less than 600 calories.
Before receiving your meals, you can find calorie estimates and nutrition information on your Delivery Calendar – simply click on any recipe to see the nutritional values per serving. You also have the option to subscribe to their weekly Nutrition email. The Customer Success team is happy to share full Nutrition Facts labels for every meal.

Pros and Cons
Gobble offers a convenient alternative for those wanting to cook their own meals, but don't feel like taking the time for all the planning and prepping work. They also offer tempting add-ons – how about chocolate chip cookies, crispy salads, and warming soups?
In our review, we found that the short cooking time was a huge advantage.
Most other meal kit companies promise you'll have dinner on the table within 45 minutes, which can feel too much after a long day at work.
Gobble has specialized in one-pan dinners, marrying the best from takeout (quickness and little cleanup) and home-cooked (healthy, fresh meals).
Their easy-to-follow recipes with only three steps make them an excellent meal kit service, regardless of your previous kitchen skills!
Some recipes each week are gluten-free, dairy-free, and without nuts – which is not the case for all meal kit delivery companies.
It's also easy to adapt the recipes. Use the menu cards in your box and online to review the ingredients per meal and exclude anything that you might be hypersensitive or allergic to.
Since it's a meal kit service, and thus does not have pre-cooked meals, it's easy to exclude ingredients to adapt for common allergens.
Food for Thought
Gobble is the go-to choice for anyone who fancies a fresh meal with minimal preparation. Thanks to the variable kit sizes, it's an excellent choice for couples and families for two or four people. If you're living alone, the 2-serving kit is ideal since you can use the extra food as leftovers (or invite a friend for dinner!).
This might not be the kit for the one who wants to improve their kitchen skills or learn advanced preparation techniques.
Gobble is the first choice for people living a modern lifestyle – yet don't wanna compromise on health and taste, and enjoy the process of cooking their own meals every once in a while in less time than it takes to order takeout. Add-ons such as chocolate chip cookies make every day feel a little sweeter.
